Scott’s Lumber celebrates new look with grand reopening
June 12, 2019
Scott’s Lumber has opened a newly renovated showroom, which added a lot of features.
New additions include 20 cabinet and counter displays and four interactive kiosks — screens that allow employees to show customers digital renditions of colors, hardware and window sizes.
The renovation, which has been in the works for the past five years, opened up the space and got rid of old carpeting, tiling and outdated displays.
“Our old showroom was tired and felt really closed off,” said general manager Kelly Vis. “Now, it’s a lot more inviting, and customers have a better view of products.”
Vis estimated the grand reopening attracted almost 300 people to the store at 4040 S. Grange Ave.
The salespeople at Scott’s Lumber are trained to give suggestions on everything from paint colors to contractors, and Vis said there’s an emphasis on customer service.
“We make sure everybody is greeted and taken care of, and our people really listen to what they want,” he said.
Scott’s Lumber has stores in Britton and Webster, which Vis said are in the early stages of renovation plans.
Store hours are 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays and 8 a.m. to noon Saturday.
