Silencer Central to open new Sioux Falls headquarters with community concert, party

June 1, 2022

This paid piece is sponsored by Silencer Central.

Fast-growing Silencer Central is ready to celebrate its success – and a new headquarters – with the entire community.

The company is inviting the public to an evening of music, food, games and prizes from 5:30 to 9 p.m. June 28 at its new home office, 4901 N. Fourth Ave. The night kicks off with food trucks and a beer tent and is followed by the concert at 7 p.m.

“The whole reason behind making this an event was for us really to celebrate how far we’ve come,” director of marketing Terra Vennard said.

“There are quite a few people who have heard about us locally, but this is the first time we’ve shown our brand-new space, and it’s a chance to share the story of the astronomical growth we’ve had.”

If you remember Silencer Central as Dakota Silencer, with office space on Louise Avenue, you’ll be amazed how the company has changed.

“We’re a lot larger, with a national footprint, and this is a chance for us to showcase that to Sioux Falls-area residents,” Vennard said. “We’re in 42 states, and we have a goal to reach $100 million in sales this year, so it really is a great story about a local company who is now competing at a national level.”

The celebration will feature a concert by country artist Tyler Farr, the chart-topping musician behind hits such as “Redneck Crazy” and “Whiskey in My Water.”

“It should be a really fun concert for all ages and a chance to celebrate with the community,” Vennard said.

Concert-goers also will find multiple food trucks, adult beverages served by JJ’s Wine, Spirits & Cigars and the chance to win some big prizes.

“One of the visions of Silencer Central is to become a destination employer, a place people want to work and want to move to work for and that becomes a staple in the community as a key employer, so we want to bring the name to the forefront of people’s minds as they explore career options,” Vennard said.

Brandon Maddox started the company in the early 2000s as a supplier of silencers, or suppressors, to the hunting and firearms industries. After growing much of it himself, the company has exploded in recent years, selling more than 100,000 silencers annually in the 42 states where customers are able to purchase them online for home delivery.

Silencer Central already counts 165 team members and growing – about half in Sioux Falls – and they will enjoy their own celebration in late June.

“We’re making this a two-day event with the first day really centered around our employees,” Vennard said. “We’re hosting a traditional company picnic with everyone together, kids playing, bouncy houses and yard games, so everyone has a chance to socialize and celebrate.”

And many of them will leave big winners, with Silencer Central planning to hand out more than $35,000 in prizes and gifts to employees.

“We just want to say thank you for all they’ve done to support our growth and show them the exciting momentum we have behind us,” Vennard said.

“Once people join our team, they see the depth and how fast the growth is and how the infrastructure of the team is built around growth, as well as keeping the customer at the forefront of everyone’s mind.”

The new location is the former Cigna Home Delivery Pharmacy building at Fourth Avenue and 60th Street North – ironically where Maddox once worked – which has been extensively renovated.

While tickets for the public celebration are free while they last, Silencer Central asks that you register here.
