Skechers plans to open its first Sioux Falls store.

The global shoe retailer is moving into the vacant former Pawn America at 3514 W. 41st St.

Pawn America closed in 2017 as part of a Chapter 11 bankruptcy, and the space has been empty ever since.

While Skechers shoes are sold at other area retailers, this will be the first standalone store in Sioux Falls. In job postings, Skechers is advertising an October opening.

Skechers has more than 3,000 stores worldwide. Some are company-owned, and others are owned by third parties.
