Downtown has a new option for cupcakes and ice cream.

Smallcakes Cupcakery & Creamery has opened a second location at 317 S. Phillips Ave.

The menu includes one dozen cupcake options, plus a gluten-free one Thursday through Saturday. There also are 10 ice cream choices.

Smallcakes offers more than 300 rotating cupcake flavors and more than 200 ice creams.

The menu includes the Smallcake Smash, which combines ice cream with a cupcake, as well as pupcakes for dogs.

Hours will adjust seasonally, but for now they’re 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday through Thursday and 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday.

To celebrate the opening, the first dozen customers downtown on Friday will receive a free cupcake.

Smallcakes will continue to operate its original store at Lake Lorraine and will start sharing space Saturday with a new cheesecake business, CheeseCakez & More.
