South Dakota Blockchain Institute to host inaugural symposium

Oct. 26, 2023

This paid event listing is sponsored by South Dakota Blockchain Institute.

The South Dakota Blockchain Institute will host its inaugural Fall Symposium on Nov. 2.

Held from 8:15 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the Sioux Falls Convention Center, the event presented by Big Watt Digital will feature speakers covering topics such as Web3, blockchain technology, digital assets and artificial intelligence across many industries.

The goal of the symposium is to educate and inform attendees about how these technologies and innovations can and will impact the economic landscape of South Dakota.

“South Dakota has been on the leading edge of financial innovation. As a pro-business state, South Dakota is now pioneering the new frontier in digital assets and blockchain technology,” SDBI chair Barry Sackett said. “We are thrilled to host our first symposium in Sioux Falls, bringing national and local leaders together to explore how these innovations will impact our state.”

South Dakota Blockchain Institute was established in late 2021 to advocate, educate and position South Dakota at the forefront of a wave of growth and opportunity associated with blockchain technology. The institute is comprised of thought leaders and experts in industries that are, or will be, directly impacted by blockchain technology, digital assets, machine learning and artificial intelligence — all part of the innovations occurring in the build-out of Web3.

The Fall Symposium will feature 22 speakers including:

  • Barry Sackett, managing partner of Goosmann Law Firm.
  • Carla Reyes, assistant professor of law at SMU Dedman School of Law.
