Spa business expands offerings in new 41st Street location

Nov. 14, 2019

Hot Spring Spas’ new location includes an expansion into swim spas and saunas.

Owners Rachael and Tom Junck more than doubled the size of their showroom with the move from a retail center at 57th Street and Louise Avenue to the former Sun ‘N Fun Specialty Sports building at 1605 W. 41st St.

“It’s been a lot busier,” Rachael Junck said. “We’ve noticed a lot more foot traffic.”

Hot tubs, swim spas and saunas are growing in popularity because more people are paying attention to their overall wellness, Junck said.

“People are looking for something like this more for stress, for physical abilities. That’s just become up and coming in the past few years, and it just keeps getting stronger with everybody exercising and then wanting something to cure the muscles afterward, to sleep better and things like that.”

Some of the swim spas include a treadmill, allowing users to also run or walk in the water.

Hot Spring Spas’ new line of saunas includes standalone infrared or steam units.

With the larger location, the Juncks have hired an additional full-time employee, bringing their staff size to seven. In addition to sales, Hot Spring Spas provides delivery and service.

Hours are 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. weekdays and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday.

Sun ‘N Fun has moved to 3600 W. 43rd St. The store is open but hasn’t completed its main retail floor yet.
