Starbucks opens Sioux Falls store west of I-29

June 27, 2022

Coffee drinkers can start visiting the first of several new west-side Starbucks stores.

The new location at 41st Street and Ellis Road is open and represents the first location west of Interstate 29 in Sioux Falls.

“We have three more coming, but that’s the first,” said Raquel Blount of Lloyd Cos., who represents Starbucks in Sioux Falls.

And that doesn’t include the location under construction at The Crossroads, which is along 12th Street just east of I-29.

The others are near Jefferson High School and not far from the northwest Sioux Falls Walmart store. A third location hasn’t been announced yet.

The West 41st Street coffee shop is in a stand-alone building near Fareway and Dollar Tree in the Westown Marketplace development.

It includes a drive-thru, seating inside and a patio. There are designated parking spots for mobile orders and a pickup spot on the counter inside.

It’s open from 5 a.m. to 8 p.m. daily.

Starbucks also recently opened at 85th Street and Minnesota Avenue and is planning at store at 69th Street and Cliff Avenue.

Why so many locations?

“We have strong sales here, and there’s still opportunity,” Blount said. “It helps with brand dominance, and as long as the stores are performing really well, then they’ll keep growing.”
