If you’ve missed summer events at Strawbale Winery this year, you’ve got a chance to experience one this week.

The winery north of Sioux Falls near Renner will be open from noon to 4 p.m. Saturday for bottle purchases only.

Owners Don and Susie South announced their retirement earlier this year, which included closing the tasting room while continuing to supply liquor stores through their wholesale business.

Strawbale has invited a few vendors to Saturday’s event, which is designed to “welcome our regulars and customers who have been telling us they miss the country atmosphere, to relax and say hi to people they have met here and miss,” Susie South said.

“We will not have a band but still have chickens and cats to enjoy. Bring a lawn chair and come say hi. We miss you all.”

The Souths have been looking for someone to take over the operation but haven’t found a new owner yet.
