SafeSplash Swim School plans to open in early 2019 and has started taking enrollments for lessons.

The national learn-to-swim program will be located at 85th Street and Minnesota Avenue in the same retail center as Urban Chislic and Orangetheory Fitness.

It’s owned locally by Dan and Christa (Raszkowski) Sobocinski. She’s a Sioux Falls native who said their vision is to kelp kids gain the skills needed for themselves and their parents to confidently have fun around water.

“Having spent nearly my whole life in this city, I know what a perfect fit this school is for our community,” she said. “We are giving families and kids the opportunity to feel the pride, confidence and accomplishment when learning how to swim. I can’t wait to open the doors in January.”

SafeSplash uses a 90-degree teaching pool, professionally trained instructors and a curriculum developed with Olympian Missy Franklin that’s being used in 100 locations nationwide.

“We couldn’t be more excited about making this investment in the Sioux Falls community,” Dan Sobocinski said.

“We will have the opportunity to provide a safe, fun, effective swim environment for kids and adults to gain a lifelong skill. Sioux Falls is such a family-oriented town, and the life skill of swimming is essential to helping families do things they enjoy like taking vacations and spending time with their kids. Everyone needs to learn water safety and develop swimming skills.”

SafeSplash founder Matt Lane’s wife grew up in Sioux Falls.

“I have a deep appreciation for the quality of the people in this city and how badly our services are needed here,” he said.

“We have been looking for a top-notch franchisee to open this market for several years. We are thrilled to help the Sobocinskis bring such a fantastic service to the families of Siouxland. Our swim program is focused on principles of teaching a progression with a purpose to help kids learn to swim the right way.”
