South Dakota has regained 95 percent of the workers lost in April because of the pandemic, according to an overview from the Labor Department.
Unemployment figures in the Sioux Falls area continue to head in a positive direction, dropping to 4.2 percent for August, compared with 5.5 percent in July.
While there was a week-over-week increase of South Dakotans filing new claims for unemployment, the number of those continuing to receive benefits dropped by 1,200.
