Tea manufacturer expands with help of state loan

A Tea company that makes kennels for dogs has expanded with the help of a state loan.

Roto Mold LLC, which does business as Ruff Tough Kennels, received a $426,500 Revolving Economic Development and Initiative Fund loan.

The company used the REDI loan to help buy a 10,000-square-foot building that is used for storage and shipping. Co-owner Doug Sangl said the business has hired two additional employees.

“We’ve been doing this for more than 15 years, and our partnership with the state of South Dakota has equated to more growth and success than we could’ve imagined,” Sangl said. “From funding that helped us purchase new equipment to funding that helped us purchase a larger facility, we’ve found that working with GOED (Governor’s Office of Economic Development) means an investment in our future, and I look forward to the next time we can utilize their services.”

Ruff Tough’s kennels are available in Scheels and Ace Hardware locations around the country and through Amazon and other retailers online. It also has international distributors.
