605 Thrift reopens today in a more visible location in a retail center on South Minnesota Avenue.
The store at 2103 S. Minnesota Ave. is in the former spaces for Cambria Gallery and Creative Surfaces Countertops & Tile. It’s filled with everything from household items and home decor to clothing and toys.
605 Thrift opened in mid-July at 523 N. Kiwanis Ave., but the owners recently learned that the building they were leasing wasn’t zoned for retail use.
The store closed two weeks ago to begin the moving process, said Terry Brooks, who owns the business with his wife, Delores. Another couple who helped started the business are no longer involved, Brooks said.
He said he’s happy with the new location, which is about the same size as the space on Kiwanis.
Hours are 8:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday.
605 Thrift opened in July on Kiwanis Avenue, but a problem with the location has led to a move to a more visible space.
