Toys R Us to employees: We’re likely closing

March 14, 2018

Toys R Us has told employees it will sell or close its nearly 800 U.S. stores, according to a Wall Street Journal report.

The toy retailer has been expected to file for Chapter 7 bankruptcy this week. That hasn’t happened yet. One option would be combining 200 U.S. stores with its Canadian stores if a buyer could be found, the report said.

The store at The Empire Mall opened in the mid-1990s.
