Walmart helps tween retailer Justice launch comeback

July 23, 2021

Just in time for back to school, tween brand Justice has reappeared with a signature collection at Walmart stores.

The new collection includes clothing, jewelry and accessories, bedding and bath merchandise, backpacks, stationery and tech accessories.

More than 140 Justice products are available at 2,400 stores and on Walmart’s website. Three of the four Sioux Falls stores – not Arrowhead Parkway – are listed among the locations.

Justice closed its stores, including its longtime one in The Empire Mall, after parent company Ascena Retail Group filed for bankruptcy last year. Bluestem Alliance bought the rights to the Justice brand and earlier this year relaunched shopjustice.com.

“Last year, the pandemic impacted many families’ traditional back-to-school shopping experience,” Denise Incandela, Walmart’s executive vice president of apparel and private brands, said in a statement. “As parents and kids alike plan for getting back to school — and all the fashion fun that comes with it — Justice is dropping a new collection. … It’s the same designs and quality girls know and love, now more accessible than ever.”

Walmart is giving families another “fun and stylish reason” to start their back-to-school shopping there, she said.

“We think customers will love the athleisure separates, including fashion leggings and graphic tees starting at $8, tie dye sweatshirts and matching joggers starting at $13, and oversized hoodies starting at $18. The bedding sets, pillows, throws and bathroom accessories ranging from $20 to $40 are perfect for a stylish room refresh. Best yet, new styles will be added seasonally, including shoes and pet accessories debuting in September.”

The number of Walmart stores carrying Justice merchandise also is expected to expand.
