The DSU Applied Research Lab is designed as a 100,000-square-foot building that will be owned by the state, but a separate nonprofit will be formed and serve as a contractor with those needing cyber research work – everyone from government contractors to private businesses. Entities potentially could lease space and employ people within the lab or contract directly with the nonprofit to provide those services.

Cody’s Smokehouse BBQ has closed after more than four years in business. The restaurant at 6401 S. Louise Ave. opened in the summer of 2017. Owner Joe Cody said he and his business partner decided to retire and plan to sell the building. The Arby’s that’s attached to it remains open.

The combined holding company will operate under the First Interstate Bank name and brand, and branch names are expected to change in May.
